Bringing wine to life
Metrovino follows the tradition of what the French would call a “caviste”. This implies not just a store where wine is sold, but also where the wines are individually selected for their quality and interest. Our selection is generally comprised of wines from small, often family-owned estates.
This is not to say that we seek to only offer expensive wines, as our portfolio of offerings is well-rounded with many interesting and unique wines at very accessible prices. Our specialty is found in our diverse selection of French wines, but Spain also has strong representation. Regions, grape varieties and producers rarely seen in Canada can often be found in the inviting old warehouse space that houses Metrovino, often on a semi or fully exclusive basis to us in the province of Alberta.
Another strength of Metrovino is the staff; they are all veterans of the wine trade, with experience and knowledge that helps them share with you the treasures found on the shelves. They are always keen to share their love of wine and food, and as Metrovino is conveniently located next to the Cookbook Co. Cooks, this location becomes a hub for anyone interested in the culinary arts.
