Returns

By law, a liquor licensed retailer cannot accept returns of alcoholic beverages unless the product is damaged, corked, or flawed. If you encounter such situation, please refer to the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission return policy and Alberta Winestein’s services on how to get a credit or refund for a faulty product. Otherwise, all sales are final. A retailer cannot refund products that were ordered in error.

Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) return policy

Refunds may be requested for the following types of faulty products:

• products returned due to customer complaint;
• a sealed bottle(s) which: is partially filled; has a damaged cap or cork; or is contaminated with a foreign material
• A claim for a refund for a faulty product must be received by the AGLC Product and Pricing Department within 30 days of receipt of product by the claimant.

AGLC require the following information for return of faulty products:

• the person's name, address and phone number; and
• the nature of their complaint.

How can I get a credit or refund for a faulty product?

Alberta Winestein only collaborates with reputable retailers that have a great track record for the quality of their products and services. Each retailer takes a great pride in offering quality products to its customers. Nevertheless, it is possible that some products may be damaged, corked, or flawed. You can obtain a credit, refund or product replacement if you respect the following easy steps:

1. Have your order number on hand. It can be retrieved from your e-mail confirmation or the shipping document.
2. Contact the store that diligently prepared the offer you selected. They are the experts and they will offer advice regarding your experience.
3. Product replacement or refund can only be offered for alcoholic beverages if:
   a. All returns are made within 30 days of purchase
   b. The faulty product is returned to the store at least 2/3 full
   c. Customer’s name, address and phone number are registered by the licensed liquor retailer.
   d. The nature of the complaint is recorded by the licensed liquor retailer.
   e. A product replacement is subject to retailer’s product availability.
4. Product replacement or refund can only be offered for food products if:
   a. All returns are made within 7 days of purchase
   b. The faulty product is returned to the store
   c. Customer’s name, address and phone number are registered by the retailer.
   d. The nature of the complaint is recorded by the retailer.
   e. A product replacement is subject to retailer’s product availability.
5. If you are not able to return the faulty product to the physical location of the retailer, a credit may be processed by the retailer to Alberta Winestein within 3 to 5 business days. You will receive a credit confirmation via e-mail that can be applied to your next purchase.

What do I do if my product is damaged?

Alberta Winestein selects merchants and suppliers that take great care to ensure that your product arrives undamaged. If you believe your product is damaged, please contact info@albertawinestein.com immediately so that we can determine an appropriate solution. We may request that you return the damaged product to us or provide us with a photo of the damage so that we can determine how to avoid issues of a similar nature in the future.

What if I don't like a product?

Our goal is always to provide you with as much information as possible to help you make a selection that you will enjoy. While ratings, testimonials and reviews may influence your decision, the ultimate judgment is yours. We cannot guarantee that you will like the taste of every alcoholic beverage or food product you select.
